Flute and Piano Lessons for Kids: Policies and Tuition Rates
Commitment to Musical Study
Growing as a musician requires a year-round commitment from the teacher, students, and their families. The setting aside of practice time, the financial implications of lessons and instrument maintenance, and the travel to and from lessons and other events are just some of things to think about when considering piano or flute lessons for those in your family. Below is a summary of some of these commitments.
Tuition rates
Monthly tuition starts at $190/month.
lesson cancellations
Enrollment in the Studio reserves a specific and exclusive lesson time in the schedule each week. Tuition is based on enrollment in the studio, not attendance. Therefore, missed lessons are not refunded or credited. “Make-up” lessons are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.
Book & Activity deposit
A $75.00 deposit for each registered student will be used for expenses including: books and material expenses, Studio recitals (live and virtual), festival entry fees (live and virtual).
4 group performance classes
Four times a year, private lessons will be replaced by virtual group performance classes. These classes will grant students the opportunity to observe and learn from their peers and build personal confidence in public performance. These group classes and may also include special music history sessions, theory activities, improvisational skills, listening skills, and more.
practice sessions
To ensure weekly progress is made, students are required to practice at least five days a week—consistency is essential for musical growth and improvement. At-home practice is not optional. Suitable practice session lengths will vary for each student, depending on age and level. It is suggested that a regular time for practice be determined and set aside each day.
